about me

hey, i’m ruwen hohnholz — a 16-year-old visual storyteller from a small spot nestled between osnabrück and bielefeld in germany.

while my camera rarely leaves my side, it’s not just about snapping pictures: i’m hooked on exploring new places, talking to different people, and capturing stories that make you feel something.
it’s no secret that i love photography and enjoy capturing landscapes on weekend trips.

right now, i’m still in school, volunteering in my school‘s paramedic program and dabbling in data privacy (yes, i’m that friend who actually reads the terms and conditions) whenever it‘s possible.

think of “focus on ruwen” as my personal space to share images, videos, and the occasional deep dive into whatever’s on my mind.
if you ask me, there’s nothing better than capturing life’s little moments — maybe it’s a road trip snapshot, an interview with a fascinating local, or just the glow of a city at dusk.

a future in video journalism is definitely on my radar — traveling, filming, meeting new faces… that’s where i’m heading. 👀

music is my constant companion (trust me, there’s always a playlist in the background), and when i’m not behind the lens, you’ll probably find me geeking out over new tech, brainstorming my next trip or maybe just typing stuff in my notes.

besides photography and film, i love working on all kinds of creative projects — from coding and building digital tools to self-hosted services and small experiments. if you’re curious, check out my projects page to see what i’ve been working on lately, across different fields.

i dream of diving deeper into video journalism, where i can fuse my love for travel, storytelling, and meeting people from all walks of life.

i’m always up for new ideas and collaborations!
